Trash_Audio & Xart Synth Event 9

Trash_Audio has been to the past few NAMM’s and every single one of them makes us want to kill ourselves. We’ve stripped down all the bullshit associated with NAMM and are offering a Synth Event where you can interact with manufacturers without dodging lines waiting to meet Slipknot.

Synth Event 9 will be structured to offer personal time with manufacturers, have the manufacturers themselves give demonstrations and have artist from both coasts of the country share how they use the instruments creatively. Basically – leave your gear at home and come learn something.

We’re charging $20 and have only about 10 spots left. With a $20 RSVP, you can bring your girlfriend or boyfriend but if you bring your boyfriend Xart has to watch you kiss. He doesn’t trust you freeloading assholes. And because everyone on Muffwiggler is getting their panties in a bunch about T_A & Xart charging for the next Synth ‘Meet’ – we decided to change the name to Synth Event 9. We still plan on having the free-for-all synth meets but we wanted to offer something different this time. There will also be food and booze.

For RSVP information, e-mail: trashaudio@gmail.com. First come, first serve.

Trash_Audio NAMM BBQ

Justin and I are going to NAMM 2011 next month to be predictably bored/ horrified of the entire NAMM experience but like earlier this year, we’ll be throwing parties over the weekend. The convention itself is a freak show but if you really want to see some shit, come to our parties. As for NAMM the convention, we managed to get passes and have plan to do some interviews and some other stuff to make our site look professional.

Exact details remain to be hashed out but expect a couple parties the weekend of January 14/15 2011. To RSVP and receive information, e-mail us at trashaudio@gmail.com. If you don’t RSVP and show up, you’re going to end up at the bottom of the pool.

Here is some unfortunate evidence from NAMM 2010….

Trash_Audio Presents an Evening With: Atari Teenage Riot (Part 4)

Justin and I have passes to NAMM and tickets to LA for January so if you’re going, you’ll probably end up at our parties somehow. Just remember, there are no safe words: you’re going to die. Or at least get humiliated on the internet with us all.

This video seemed to have fallen through the cracks of life. We get sidetracked from the interview with personality annihilating devices and then Atari Teenage Riot performs Into The Death.

Subconscious Tour

I’ll be opening up for the Subconscious tour in Chicago and Detroit this friday and saturday. I guess I’m one of the special guests! Hopefully I’ll see you there.

SUBCON Beyond Fest 2010

East Coast / Mid West USA – September / October 2010

Featuring: Download, Plateau, Otto von Schirach, Banana Sloth, Dead Voices on Air, Bangalore plus special guests

From it’s roots in Vancouver, BC to it’s current home in Los Angeles, CA, Subconscious Communications has released a bewildering array of music from a related cast of characters, centred around cEvin Key of Skinny Puppy. The label launched Download (with Phil Western,
Mark Spybey and the late Dwayne Goettel) who released critically acclaimed albums and toured in 1996. Regular releases followed by Download, The Tear Garden and Plateau amongst others. In 2009 the label released Beyond the Vault, a 6 cd box set of recordings by associates new and old. In March of 2010, the Download trio of Key, Western and Spybey performed together on stage for the first time in 14 years in Texas. Beyond Fest is a series of shows in North America,
set for September/October 2010 and January/February 2011 bringing together Subconscious and related artists in a variety of collaborative guises. Key, Western and Spybey will be joined by Miami bass juggler Otto von Schirach and the reclusive but slightly intimidating Banana Sloth. guests in various cities. Alison Lane – VJ Dizy Pixl, from Denver, Co will be handling visuals for the tour.

Synth Meet 8

There was a lesson to be learned about having the synth meet two days: don’t do it. I won’t get into the energy dynamics and various reasons but aside everyone being tired the second day – we all had fun. I was able to meet new people, see friends from around the country, learn about new gear and watch you all get drunk. Hopefully you were able to get something out of it as well. Thanks to all of the magnificent manufacturers graced us with their presence and schooled us all!

Chicago – August

Richard Devine came into town this past weekend to play a STS9 after party, he brought a module I requested – the Doepfer A101-3 Vactrol Phase Filter. Of everyone I know with a system, only two people come to mind (Richard being one of them) who own this module and they speak very highly of it. I’ve never heard it in action before and I know many of you haven’t either. There are some examples of how we used it but not a proper run through. Anyways, here’s some random things I did this month.

Pro-Modular will be joining the manufacturer roster at the Synth Meet 8. I’ll write up a complete list in a few days because the list is growing. If you’re interested in coming, write an e-mail to trashaudio@gmail.com and I’ll send you the information.

SUBCON Beyond FEST

Massive advanced warning. I’ll be opening up the tour in Chicago and Detroit on the 24th and 25th of September. I’ve been informed that the tickets are selling like crazy, hence the advanced warning. Hopefully I’ll see some of you there.
